Field tech Copilot on the truck

How installers use an on-site AI agent for wiring, firmware, and troubleshooting without guessing from memory.

By Linki Security

Most “AI assistants” are chat toys. A field Copilot for security techs has to respect the job site: intermittent signal, manufacturer quirks, and the fact that wrong advice costs truck rolls.

What techs ask for

  • PoE budget and cable run sanity checks
  • Firmware / app download links (official hubs only)
  • Alarm panel zone wording that matches the brand on the wall
  • “Is this NVR license still the right SKU?”

Linki’s Tech Support and Field Copilot answer with Sources when knowledge is grounded, and mark TBD when the model is guessing — so you know what to verify.

Guardrails that matter

  • Copilot does not auto-change quote prices or send customer email
  • Knowledge pages link out to manufacturer hubs — we do not host installers’ binaries
  • Demo data stays isolated from real company workspaces

Get started

Open Tech Support from the portal, pick a manufacturer theme, and ask the question you would normally text a senior tech. If AI is not configured yet on your environment, the UI says so honestly — no fake answers.
